    (Research):Son of M.A. and Cynthia Bagwill, was born at Campbell Hill January 11th, 1874. Married Ollie M. Bradley June 12th, 1895. He was converted December 1890, joined the Campbell Hill Free Baptist Church; licensed to preach October 1st. 1892, and was ordained July 5th, 1895 by Revs. G. A. Gordon, M. A. Shepard, J. L. Meads and J. W. McMillan. The greatest meeting of his life was at Percy in 1898; in 12 days, 120 accessions, 102 baptized-- the largest number baptized in any one church that year in the denomination. Resides at Marion, Ill., and is our pastor there; also Lone Oak, Creal Springs and Spillertown. Was delegate to General Conference at Ocean Park, Me. 1898   (Source:  Life and Labors of Rev.. Peter Cluster & Percila Ann - Had the following children (they were full blood Pennsylvania Germans & came from Pennsylvania to Covington, Kentucky where the following children were Born to them. Peter M Cluster (my grandfather) John B., Wm H., Michael Dudley & Jessey Jackson and Elinder (called Ellen) Percila Ann & Mauda.
    Peter M Cluster (my grandfather) married lst Nancy Sanders, 2nd Mary (or Polly) Benson. To them were born Will, Grant, Jno, George, Lucity, Cynthia (my mother) & little Ann. (Died in infancy) One of your father's Sisters Married Dan Jessup. One married Wm Underwood, one married - looks like - Burf Culley . Your father's aunt married Daniel Boon & I think he was in Revolutionary War.
    I knew Bob & Jim Cluster your father's Bros. Bob married Sarah Phoenix. I knew his two Boys. Bob jr owns a string of picture theaters (or did). Jim had a Daughter Trissy that I knew & I remember he had one boy. Sam Cluster was a cousin to my Grand Father Peter M. Cluster. I don't remember much about the Youngs. But uncle Dick's Father was Jim Young - and uncle Dick had two boys that I knew Will & Jimmie & One Daughter Mary, that I knew. We have no knowledge of any of the Clusters being in Revolutionary war. But of course we have no knowledge farther back than My Great Grand Father Peter Cluster. Evidently back of him Some of them were in the Revolution.
    We are all well, Papa & Mamma have been exceptionally well all winter. Wm -looks like Probe - died last week with leakage of heart and Ida (Welkemeyer) Knop - is at point of Death. Tumor & Cancer of Stomach. Mr. Lawder is still able to get to town & back. It Seems this has been a healthful winter. I am Making Garden Sowd Tobacco Seed, Lettuce & Tomatoes today & put out 200 Strawberry plants. Tell Claud I am still doing my own Cooking. But I am a born house Keeper. Tell him I have looked for a house keeper not over 25 with auburn Red hair, good natured with a kindly disposition with some money and One that's Sweet Tempered, But don't find her.     (Research):Wife of Rev. Jno H. Bagwill and youngest daughter of Jas. H. and Ruth J. Bradley, was born at DeSoto, Ill., June 21st, 1873; and converted at DeSoto in 1889, and joined the Free Baptist Church. She was united in matrimony June 12th, 1895, with Rev. J. G. Bagwill.   1. 6.  Judge James Hughes Bradley was born 22 Aug 1821, Randolph County, IL (son of James Henry Bradley and Martha Hughes); died 29 Aug 1888, Jackson County, IL; was buried , Desoto Cemetery, Desoto, Jackson County, IL.

    Notes:

    James enrolled as a Private in Co A, 18 Regiment Illinois Infantry on 15 Aug 1862 to serve three years or during the war.  He was discharged on 8 July 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas by reason of expiration of term.  His physical characteristics included: height 5'10", fair complexion, blue eyes and light hair, and was by occupation a lawyer.  On Feb 25 1876 he applied and recieved an invalid pension for necrosis of the lower jaw.  On the 16 January 1886 he gave a deposition in regard to the invalid pension of Leander Bradley, his cousin.  At that time he stated that his occupation was that of lumberman and his address was Grubb's Post Office in Jackson county.  He was a lawyer professionally and an ultra prohibitionist.

  1. 12.  James Henry Bradley was born 13 Jun 1797, Concord, Cabarrus County, NC (son of Joshua Bradley and Nancy "Ann" Gardner); died 15 Mar 1866, Jackson County, IL; was buried , Gillespie Cemetery, Randolph County, IL.

    Notes:

    Shortly after his birth the family moved to Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee.  On 29 September 1814, James enlisted as a private in Captain Thomas Scurr's Company, 2nd Regiment of Tennessee Volunteer Mounted Gunmen.  This regiment was commanded by Colonel Thomas Williamson and fought under General Coffee's command during the Battle of New Orleans.  James was discharged on 27 April 1815 at Nashville, Tennessee.  James received a land grant for 80 acres of land under the Act of September 1850, and located it in Jackson County, Illinois.   James moved near Shiloh Hill in Randolph County, Illinois Territory in 1817.

    Like his father, James Bradley was a stone mason by trade, and for many years lived on his farm and manufactured monuments and chimney foundations.  He was the first man to do stone cutting and monument work in the southern part of the state, and was also a maker of grindstones.  He was very involved in local politics.  He was appointed numerous times to County Juries between 1825 and 1840.  He was the head of the Bradley Road District in 1827, and was appointed Fence Viewer in Gognia Township in 1830.  He served as Justice of the Peace in 1831, and in 1839 was appointed by the Illinois State Legislature as one of the commissioners to lay out a road from Belleville, via New Athens, to Brownsville.

    On January 1st, 1836 several citizens of Randolph and Jackson counties, including James, met to organize a school, which became known as Shiloh School located in Randolph County.  James was among the men who donated money to purchase 80 acres for the school house on 13 April 1839.  On the 11th of November 1839 he became a Trustee of the school, and 12 days later the Trustees were charged with the incorporation of Shiloh College.  Upon the college's incorporation on 22 January 1840, he was appointed a Trustee of the College, and served until August of 1842.
