She was married to Elza Brantley on July 4, 1936 in Murphysboro; Elza preceded her in death on October 14, 1999. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her goal in life was to make sure her family knew they were loved. She was 100% successful as she was a true homemaker. Evelyn was a believer in Jesus Christ and a life long member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro. She was past President of the Lutheran Women and a member of the American Legion post 127 Auxiliary in Murphysboro. She actively assisted her husband Elza in the support of the Republican Party and loved every moment. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday at the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro, the Rev Franklyn Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Saturday at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro and from 1 pm until the hour of services Sunday at the Church. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church or TIP Hospice. Survivors include one daughter and son in law; Jama and Dean Berger of Murphysboro.
