  • Notes
    • He served as a Private in Company I, 10th Illinois Volunteer Infantry.  He was medically discharged due to a rupture in 1862.

Two stories told where he was shot by a neighbor boy or got into a fight and was
killed. We cannot locate his burial or exactly how he died.  His wife, Sarah, was pregnant with his son when he died so she named their son after his father,  John Franklin.  (From email from Chris Almasy chrisfamilyfinder@webtv.net)
