    • Served in Capt. Ratcliff's Company, 1836 - TX/Mexico War
    • (Research):Served in Capt. Ratcliffs Company of Volunteers from 19 Apr 1836 to 1 Sep 1836. This was during the war between Texas and Mexico. His widow recieved 1280 acres in Bounty Land in Goliad County, TX.

Found info on a Capt. Wm. Ratcliff's San Augustine Volunteers joined up about 1 Apr 1836 and arrived late for the Battle of San Jacinto on Apr 21st. Not sure if this is the same unit or not.
