    ADVANCE, Mo. -- Doyle Winchester, 89, of Advance passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
    He was born Oct. 28, 1923, at Advance, son of Wiley Levi and Freeda J. Revelle Winchester. He married Melba Russell, and she passed away in 1982.

    Doyle was a retired switchman from the railroad and attended Friendship Baptist Church in Dongola, Mo.

    Survivors include a son, Rick Whittenberg of Kissimmee, Fla.; a special friend, Sally Powell of Dallas; four brothers, H.W. (Pearl) Winchester of Advance, Bob (Mary) Winchester of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jim Winchester of Glenallen, Mo., and Jack (Peggy) Winchester of Maryland Heights, Mo.; two sisters, Nancy C. (Ralph) Farrar of Ballwin, Mo., and Bonnie (Glen) Shell of Advance; a grandson, Jason; a great-grandson, Elijah; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Wilbur and Ronnie.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

    The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ronnie and Bob Winchester officiating. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Dongola.
