    Notes:

(Research):The 1840 Census (ages as of 1 Jun 1840) for Saml. W. Higgerson lists the following:
    Male 20-30 (Saml, age 21)
    Female 30-40 (Mary G. age 35)
    Female 5-10 (Margaret A Montieth, age 8)
    Male 5-10 (John A. Monteith, age 5)
Female under 5 (Sarah F. Higgerson, age 6 months)

The question therefore is where is James C. Monteith. My guess is he is the male 5-10 living with Samuel Higgerson.

Mary married Josiah Monteith Abt 1827. Josiah was born 19 Aug 1805; died 27 May 1836, Randolph County, IL; was buried , Stoker Cemetery, Randolph County, IL. [Group Sheet]
