NOTE: Enoch Fulford, who died Sept. 24, 1824, was one of three children born to Joseph and Hannah Ward Fulford. His other siblings were Keziah Fulford (Hellen) and Sarah "Sally" Fulford.

Joseph Fulford, the oldest of the four children of Enoch and Ann Martin Fulford, moved to New Bern NC. After his marriage to Sarah Frances HYMAN, he sent for his younger siblings, Enoch (Jr.) and William Clarence. Enoch died about six months after he moved to New Bern of "brain fever." William Clarence worked as a clerk in New Bern, never married, and died at around age 40. Both are buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Hyman-Fulford family plot. The surviving daughter, Mary Hellen Fulford, has yet to be discovered.

Joseph Fulford and his wife, Sarah, had fourteen children, of which six survived to adulthood: Mary Ann, Eugenia Elizabeth, Sarah Josephine "Jo," and Emma Catherine, and Francis Joseph "Frank" and Walter Fulford. Walter Fulford was my grandfather (1860-1944). Eugenia Elizabeth married William Bardwell Bogart; she died after their second son was born. He married Mary Ann, and they moved to Greensboro NC. Sisters Sarah and Emma Catherine never married and they also lived with Mary Ann and William Bogart in Greensboro. Emma Catherine, however, did live long enough to witness my father’s christening in Christ Episcopal Church, New Bern NC in December 1890.
